{"id":2,"date":"2012-12-18T00:49:13","date_gmt":"2012-12-18T00:49:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.kellysheehan.net\/?page_id=2"},"modified":"2017-08-28T15:45:41","modified_gmt":"2017-08-28T19:45:41","slug":"sample-page","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.kellysheehan.net\/","title":{"rendered":"About"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-193 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kellysheehan.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_4252-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_4252\" width=\"184\" height=\"277\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kellysheehan.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_4252-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/www.kellysheehan.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/IMG_4252.jpg 299w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 184px) 100vw, 184px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kelly Sheehan is a lifelong artist from Toledo Ohio. \u00a0She has studied and produced art from an early age. \u00a0Intrigued by all art forms, she has created pieces in oil painting, water color, charcoal, pencil, ceramics, welding, quilting, sculpture and print making. \u00a0Her specialties, though, are glass making and pastels. \u00a0Even within glass making she has created pieces in many art forms including hot glass, warm glass (slumping fusing and kiln fired), murrini role ups, sculpting, etched and sandblasted \u00a0and casting. \u00a0She is most known for her painting on glass using vitreous enamels, an old European art form that she uses to bring life to glass objects she creates. \u00a0She uses the direct application method (mostly reversed painted) as well as the grisaille method.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kellysheehan.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Village-Glass-Dec7-2007-016.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-36 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.kellysheehan.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Village-Glass-Dec7-2007-016-217x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"217\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.kellysheehan.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Village-Glass-Dec7-2007-016-217x300.jpg 217w, https:\/\/www.kellysheehan.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Village-Glass-Dec7-2007-016-743x1024.jpg 743w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 217px) 100vw, 217px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When not creating art, she is constantly studying and teaching it. \u00a0After receiving her degree from Bowling Green State University in Art Education, Kelly has taught many art forms to elementary school children, adults and especially to outreach programs involving at risk adolescents. \u00a0She has been a member of the teaching staff at the Toledo Museum of Art&#8217;s Glass Pavilion and an instructor in the Museum&#8217;s education program. \u00a0She has been a docent at the Toledo Museum of Art for many years and is the retired Director of The Blair Museum of Lithophanes at the Toledo Botanical Gardens.<\/p>\n<p>She has won a number of awards, primarily in glass and her works are featured in a number of corporate, civic and personal collections.<\/p>\n<p>Kelly is the owner of Kellfire Glass and continues to create glass art at the Toledo Museum of Art Glass Pavilion and in her studio in suburban Toledo. \u00a0She also creates her pastels from her studio.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;
